Grace alone is one of the foundational pillars of our faith as Lutheran Christians. Our theme verse for the 2026-2027 school year at CLS captures this truth perfectly.

Ephesians 2:8, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”

I am humbled to be a son, a brother, a husband, a father, a coach, a teacher, and a principal. Yet above all these roles, I am most humbled to know that I am forgiven and saved by God’s grace. I fall short, make mistakes, and need God’s grace just as much as anyone else. My salvation is not because of anything I have done, but because of God’s unending love and mercy.

Our theme song for this school year, “It Really Is Amazing Grace” by Phil Wickham and Crowder, will remind us of this truth again and again throughout the year ahead. I pray that as you hear it and sing it yourself- that you would be reminded of God’s grace for you in Jesus too.

Christ Lutheran School has served the Phoenix area for more than 70 years - and it has endured solely because of God’s grace and the blessings He has continually poured out on this ministry.

Our Service Learning Program gives students at every grade level opportunities to learn, serve, honor, and love others. We want our students to understand that life is not solely about themselves, but it is about reflecting Christ’s love through helping and serving those around them.

May we all remember that we have a God who willingly sacrificed Himself for us. That is the ultimate expression of grace - a gift freely given and eternally ours through Jesus Christ.

One of the greatest blessings of our lives has been the chance to send our kids to Christ Lutheran School from preschool through 8th grade for the past 14 years. (Thank You, Lord!) The academics at the school are very good, but above all else, the school’s mission is to show kids how much Jesus loves them, how He died for them, and how He rose again so that they will never be lost. From the first year, when Mrs. M. showered our daughter with kindness, to our last year, when Mr. T. provided our son daily with a strong Christian role model, CLS was a safe and loving place for our children to grow in mind, body and spirit. Phoenix has a lot of good schools these days. But God guided us to the very best one, and for that we will be forever grateful.

Our family has truly loved our experience at Christ Lutheran School. From the strong faith-based foundation to the caring teachers and supportive community, the school has played an incredible role in shaping both of our children academically, personally, and spiritually. As our son finishes 8th grade, we wanted to share how grateful our family is for Christ Lutheran School. Mr. Doyle, the teachers and staff have been so caring and supportive — not just when things are going smoothly, but especially when kids hit bumps along the way. We have seen firsthand how the CLS invests in their students — not just academically, but emotionally and spiritually. CLS notices when a student is having a hard time. They reach out when something seems off. They communicate openly, partner with parents, and consistently choose compassion. "For the past 15 years we have had the pleasure of having our two children attend Christ Lutheran School. I cannot begin to describe the loving Christian environment that we have experienced since 2009. There was never a time that we felt that our children were not loved and safe at CLS. For over 10 years we have offered this FREE conference to remind professional and lay church workers that you are loved, you are not alone, and you matter.
